Do You Qualify?


Here are some minimum requirements:


  • · Local Residency (live in White County for the past 12 months)
  • · Need for Decent, Affordable Housing (Living in overcrowded or deteriorating condition, living with family or friends,  etc.)
  • · Willingness to Partner (Partner families are required “sweat equity” volunteer hours when purchasing a Habitat home)
  • · Ability to Pay (Partner families are not given the house for free. They must be able to pay  a zero-interest mortgage payment, but not qualify for a traditional bank loan. Please see chart for annual income limits set by HUD. Minimum & Maximum gross income limits are based on 30%-60% of Area Median Family Income (AMI) as set by HUD)

Habitat for Humanity is a partnership. The houses are not given for free. Partners must be able to pay zero interest mortgage payments and provide "sweat equity hours" during construction. Habitat has a partnership process to make sure we are helping those in need. Applications are screened based on need, income, credit and a willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity. Due to being a small affiliate, we do not renovate and build on property not already owned by Habitat for Humanity of White County, Arkansas.
